This beautiful photo was taken not long after the Glockner Family moved to Los Angeles, California from Minneapolis, Hennepin, Minnesota. My grandmother (Eva May Ahlson  1892 - 1992) took this photo of her daughters playing at Long Beach, in Southern California, on 4 Nov 1923. The girls on the left and right are Valerie Jean Glockner (my mother, who was five years old) and Vernone E. Glockner (my aunt, who was eleven years old). The look on Valerie’s face is priceless. My grandmother left boxes of photos/portraits of and letters from family members. Her mother (Elva Corine Tibbits 1869-1948) loved taking photos, too. There are even wonderful portraits of the family dogs (through the years). The photos/portraits and letters are treasures, incredible gifts from long ago.
